Pop art decor. Yay, or nay? For us, it is a big yay and today you will get to see why in first hand! The art movement that first began in the UK back in the 50s, quickly made its way across the ocean to spark the interest of artistic minds such as Andy Warhol, who came to be one the central figures of pop art. From there, the cross to home decor was quick, and today we can see gorgeous mid-century modern homes rocking an amazing pop art decor. Let’s take a walk…

The big idea behind pop art when it first surfaced in the 1950s was to incorporate the images people were becoming used to see in pop culture, as well as advertising. Advertising was on the rise at the time, and it only made sense that it was represented in a form of art, trying to keep up with the changes that were happening in the post-war world. The result was an art movement full of colors, iconic expressions and a little bit of irony added to the mix.

On what concerns us, we love the look pop art home decor can bring to the table. It is fun, it is satirical and it represents what is going on with our culture.
Take note that even if you don’t want to use wall art prints or actual pop art decor, you can still get that same feeling in your mid-century modern home.
