Based in the city of dreams, Gideon Mendelson has kept to impress us with his unique design ideas and signature style. This residential project is one of his latest designs and lets us say that didn’t disappoint!
This unique residential project in the Big Apple belonged to a family that was Gideon Mendelson‘s longtime clients, so the pressure was to overpass the incredible interior design that the interior designer created for their original home. The final result was a beautiful home decor that has sophistication, luxury details, and some fun mid-century twists!
For this special residential project, Gideon Mendelson decided to go with a very light color palette for the base, which was later combined with some interesting details, such as bold patterns and strong pop of colors. Gideon is considered to be one of the most iconic interior designers in New York, so it is only to expect that this interior design would feature that WOW factor! Are you ready to be inspired?
Gideon Mendelson founded Mendelson Group in 2003, and since then has impressed the world with his unique ideas and incredible interior design approach. His life was always on a trajectory toward interior design, so you could expect great things from him. Gideon graduated from Columbia University with a degree in architecture and a minor in film studies. His architectural training has determined the way he approaches every design project, by starting with function and circulation rather than rugs or fabrics.
The philosophy of this New York-based design studio is built around Gideon Mendelson‘s belief that great design can relieve stress, inspire conversation, and help clients create beautiful memories. Besides receiving multiple awards throughout the years, his work has been featured in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, Coastal Living, House Beautiful, New York Cottages and Gardens, Lonny, Luxe Interiors + Design, Modern Sanctuary, The New York Times and My Domaine.
For this New York apartment, his clients were drawn to modernism and wanted a glamorous home with sculptural furniture designs, that was also functional and kid-friendly. This design idea was something that Gideon Mendelson stood up for in his signature style, so it wasn’t difficult to fulfill the family’s expectations.
For this residential project in New York City, Gideon Mendelson wanted to go with a trendy neutral color palette in the common areas so that these spaces could be enhanced with some interesting furniture pieces or lighting fixtures. We could even say that these sceneries were the white canvas where all of the unique furnishings could shine for themselves. In smaller spaces, he took risks with patterns and strong pops of color.
