New York famed Interior designer Vanessa DeLeon was born in Secaucus, New Jersey. Vanessa is strongly inspired by her Cuban roots which influence her art deco style. She lives by her motto, the three D’s – “drive, dedication and determination.” Vanessa’s first start was in her family furniture business, where she found her calling in interior design. Branching out on her own, she created Vanessa DeLeon Associates, while still attending Berkeley College for Interior Design, a recent graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a graduate from the Feng Shui Institute of America. Vanessa is an interior designer, writer, award-winning designer for the Italian Trade Commission, ASID & IDS entrepreneur and television personality. Vanessa started when she was first featured on Design Star, where she gained recognition for her own unique style she coined “Glamilistic,” a combination of glamour and streamlined minimalism.
Vanessa’s next venture was when she was featured on the first hit season of the Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible, a plethora of television appearances followed, HGTV, Generation Renovation, Designer’s Challenge, Bang for your Buck, Spaces TV, host and designer for “Your Place is a Deal Breaker”, New York, Pix 11, “Vanessa to the Rescue,” DIY network & HGTV “Rev Run Renovation”, BRAVO “Ice Loves Coco” and her most recent television appearance on NBC “American Dream Builders”.
Vanessa was named Rising Star of Interior Design by Jamie Drake. She has been featured in numerous publications, including Interior Design, 201 Homes, Latina magazine, Time, Entertainment, Aspire, Home, and New York Spaces. In addition, she is Design Editor for SOMA and Bella Petite Magazine. Vanessa’s designs have been featured in a variety of book publications, including where she has contributed to several books, including Shore Décor, The Art of Tile, Spectacular Homes of Metro New York, Show House 1 a Decorator’s Tour, Interior Design, Best of Residential.
