Design Festival North 2022 – 12–14 Jul, Manchester, UK
Design Festival North is a creative networking and social event that takes place over three days at various showrooms in Manchester. Information on the most up-to-date colour, wood, lighting, tile and paint trends will be available for visitors, as well as plenty of discussion about sustainability and technology in the design industry.
Australian International Furniture Fair 2022 – 14–17 Jul, Melbourne, Australia

Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) returns to Melbourne for its 18th edition. Taking place at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the event showcases hundreds of brands and expects to welcome more than 10,000 trade visitors for its 2022 edition. Indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, textiles, soft furnishings and art are all on display at the fair. The event also hosts awards, seminars and workshops.
Design Helsinki 2022 – 24–25 Aug, Helsinki, Finland

Taking place in Finland’s capital city, Design Helsinki is a two-day event of talks, installations and an exhibition of furniture, lighting and interiors. The fair takes place at multiple locations across Helsinki, including a series of talks at the Design Museum, installations in Esplanadi park and viewings of local design showrooms.
Oslo Design Fair 2022 – 31 Aug – 2 Sep, Oslo, Norway

Oslo Design Fair presents the latest design and interior design products from around the world through its programme of exhibitions and keynote talks. The fair, which is one of the most important design events in Norway, exhibits a variety of products including furniture, lighting, jewellery and other crafts.
Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2022 – 7 Sep – 20 Nov, Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn Architecture Biennale is the biggest architectural festival in the Baltics and this year is centered around a theme named Edible, or The Architecture of Metabolism. It includes a large exhibition that explores the logic of the circular economy and the ways it interacts with design fields, as well as an outdoor installation in the heart of Tallinn, which is the result of an architecture competition.
France Design Week 2022 – 7–28 Sep, France

France Design Week 2022 takes place over three weeks in September and presents a variety of events, including exhibitions, conferences, design studio visits, school open days and workshops. The week intends to promote innovation and increase France’s exposure to design.
NY Luxury Design Fair – 8–11 Sep, New York City, USA

NY Luxury Design Fair is a new event that showcases furniture, furnishings and objects from top brands, designers and emerging makers. The four-day event brings together architects, designers, design professionals and the public and offers an array of luxury products including lighting, home accessories, textiles, furniture and outdoor furniture.
Helsinki Design Week 2022 – 8–18 Sep, Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki Design Week brings together design professionals and creatives for a curated selection of citywide events in the Finnish capital. The design week looks to the theme of openness for its 2022 event and aims to explore questions surrounding sustainability, curiosity and transparency.
Vienna Design Week 2022 – 16–25 Sep, Vienna, Austria

Vienna Design Week is returning in September with a programme of exhibitions, workshops, lectures and tours taking place throughout the Austrian capital. Directed by Gabriel Roland, the country’s largest design festival spotlights both established and emerging local talent, as well as a different Viennese guest district every year.

The London Design Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a programme of events, installations and exhibitions set to take place across the capital from 17 to 25 September 2022.
Feria Hábitat Valencia 2022 – 20–23 Sep, Valencia, Spain

Feria Hábitat Valencia is an international furniture and lighting trade fair that showcases household products made in Spain. This year’s event takes place over four days in Valencia with more than 500 exhibitors. Alongside furniture and lighting, its offerings include kitchen, decoration and textile design for the home.
Design China Beijing 2022 – 21–23 Sep, Beijing, China

Design China Beijing returns for its fifth edition, showcasing international brands alongside local design talent and a cultural programme of talks and installations.
Light + Building 2022 – 2–6 Oct, Frankfurt, Germany

Light + Building, the world’s largest trade fair for lighting and building services engineering, returns to Frankfurt from 2 to 6 October 2022. It presents work from leading architects, designers, engineers and tradespeople, and describes itself as “the world’s only trade fair to combine the fields of architecture and technology”.
Design Shanghai 2022 – 13–15 Oct, Shanghai, China
Design Shanghai brings together the work of both established and emerging designers from China and abroad. Over four days, the event returns to China’s biggest city as part of the largest network of annual design shows across Asia. The event showcases a wide range of products including contemporary, luxury and workplace design.
Dubai Design Week 2022 – 8–13 Nov, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai Design Week returns for its eighth edition with a week-long festival of creativity at various locations across the region. The week is an annual event that showcases the best of the city’s established creative talent while also providing a platform for emerging designers.
Design Miami 2022 – 30 Nov – 4 Dec, Miami, USA

Design Miami brings together designers, curators, critics and gallerists to exhibit and celebrate collectable design from 30 November to 4 December 2022. Top galleries exhibit furniture, lighting and art objects across the event while a series of cultural programmes including lectures, panel discussions and networking sessions explore architecture, music, film and design.
