The third edition of Design Lisbon Meetings will take place on November 17 at the Faculty of Fine Arts to discuss the importance of creativity and innovation in building social and economic value in the country.
According to the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (FBAUL), the meeting will count on the participation of national and foreign experts who will present their thoughts on the subject of design.
The edition of 2016 with the title “Design, identity and complexity” will, according to the organization, explore the contribution of scientific research in this area, the proliferation of debates and curatorial projects that have led to “awareness of people to issues as casualization and sustainability “of society.

Focus will be issues of identity and complexity of this discipline, the use of design as a strategic resource, and how educational institutions and research centers to consolidate as an area of knowledge in the organization. Mario Trimarchi, architect and designer of Fragile studio, Teal Triggs, a professor at the Royal College of Art, Philip Cabau, architect and researcher in product design at the Design School of Caldas da Rainha, Joana Quental, designer and illustrator, professor at the University Aveiro and Fatima Pombo, designer and professor at the same university, are some of the guest speakers.
“By placing under observation the cultural dynamics of the processes, methodologies and practical implementation of the design, the Meetings of Design Lisbon will discuss the importance of creativity and innovation in building social and economic value, trying to identify the role of the university in this context “also stresses the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
The Meetings of Design will take place between 09:00 and 18:00 on November 17 in the large auditorium of FBAUL.
