The furniture and interior design exhibition, Maison & Objet, taking place in Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Park, on the outskirts of Paris, has the presence of 73 Portuguese brands.
According to the statement sent to Lusa agency, in Portugal, the delegation in Paris of the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP), states that the presence of more than 70 companies in one of the “biggest international fairs for professionals in the decoration/furniture sector, in France”, shows that Portugal “continues with a high degree of representativeness” in this sector in France.

In this edition of Maison & Objet are expected about 110,000 visitors who have the opportunity to visit more than 3,300 exhibitors, half of which are international.
The main objective of the Portuguese participation is to obtain new contacts and expanding into new markets, as the high number of international visitors. This idea was supported by a representative of APIMA – Portuguese Association of Furniture Industries, to LUSA agency, “It is an event that attracts visitors from all markets of the various continents. Portuguese companies involved in this issue in order to make new contacts with new customers and increase the number of export markets.” Also for the lighting industry this is one of the exhibitions of major importance and Portugal is represented at the highest level “the crème de la crème of the Portuguese lighting manufacturers” according to Ricardo Sebastião executive director of the Industrial Association of Portuguese Lighting (AIPI).
One of the differentiating factors of Portuguese pieces is the bold and unique design, making it known and desired worldwide.
The presence of the Boca do Lobo brand in the Hollywood film “Fifty Shades of Grey” is an example of the notoriety that the Portuguese design reached.
