The midcentury is a remarkable time in every way, from politics to the arts, through society or architecture.
However, the most striking changes have given up on society and the arts, where the colors and shapes gained a new life in lush conjugations and often conflicting: the use of fluorescent colors, neons, rounded shapes and straight lines, female became luxurious and their hairstyles earn waves and curls, while men earn fitting clothing and long hair.

The Rock n ‘Roll and Pop Art are highlighted quickly by the joy and “good vibes” that transmit to people. In any jukebox, in any dinner there was a rock album ready to begin the swing, specially in the USA.
In contrast to all this joy, wars recorded in this time, some of its most heinous pages: the use of Napalm in Vietnam, Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Nazi concentration camps, among others.
40’s, 50’s and 60’s were undoubtedly three decades of contrasts and moments that greatly influenced the decades that followed. We can say that today you steel feel these effects, evident in the increasing demand for the spirit “retro”, not only on clothes and haircuts but also in design, home decor, furniture or others.
This is the spirit that we try to bring to our furniture at Essential Home.
