Some people love to look for reasons to say that a simpler life is harder than it looks … and there are people who go there and prove otherwise. This is the case of American designer Kristie Wolfe, who built a wooden and bamboo house in Hawaii.
Kristie had already built an economic home in her city, Boise, Idaho, USA, with only $ 3000, where she currently lives. This beach house cost a total of about $ 23,000, of which $ 11,000 were spent on materials and $ 8000 on the terrain. In addition, the designer also includes $ 4,000 between airline tickets, trucks for freight and food.
The whole home was planned by Kristie and built together with her mother. The entire structure is made of wood and bamboo, and, to top it off, the home is self-sustaining. Panels collect solar energy to make electricity, a system collects rainwater and even has a sink-private combo that takes advantage of the water used on tap to flush.

The building has a bedroom, a bathroom and space for a kitchen that Kristie has not yet finalized. Even with all the simplicity, the designer did not give up style with a handmade chandelier, glass sliding doors and many plants. It also has a space under the home with a springboard turned into a kind of bed. And as the owner is not there all the time, this warm place is available for rent on Airbnb platform. Interested?
