Milan Fashion Week is one of the most important shows in the fashion business. Since September, 20th, dozens of famous designers from high-end couture brands brought their collections to those catwalks. A lot of things happened during the past five days but we have already chosen the best shows for your inner trend seeker.

In a tribute to the 20th death birthday of her brother, Donatella Versace returned to the 90’s and rescued Gianni original pieces, patterns and designs. Iconic Versace collections, such as Native American, Metal Mesh-inspired, Baroque and Animalia were brought to life in bold, intricate and colorful pieces. The show ended with Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen, Gianni’s favorite models, walking in golden dresses, side by side with Donatella.

It’s not every day that we can see models dressed like a flower bouquet, right? But with Jeremy Scott, the creative director of Moschino, everything is possible! The show opened with some ballerinas with a Madonna twist, all dressed in tiny feather tutus and black fishnets and ended with Gigi Hadid and Kaia Berber wrapped with flowers and a bow.

The inspiration to Thomas Maier’s collection came directly from the marble room at England’s Kedleston Hall. Mainly with rose and blue tones, the pieces were a perfect combination of simplicity and utilitarian with couture-worthy embellishments. The serenity of the pastels contrasted with the strength of the metallics, both in the tissues and in the jewels.
Dolce & Gabbana

Looking like exited the Queen of Hearts Kingdom, the Dolce and Gabbana show ended as it started with pure 90’s Italian sexiness. After some black underwear and sheer dresses, Domenico Dolce and Stephano Gabbana opted for day-to-day motifs, with fruits, fishes and flowers featured in clothes and jewelry. But, after all, the show was all about Millenials and the beat of their hearts so, nothing better to honor that than some beats from the top pop artists from this year.

“I don’t think that women achieved enough yet by far”, said Miuccia Prada at the end of her show. With cartoons made by women about women, the runway was a statement for women’s rights from the ceiling to the floor. With models featuring rolled up sleeves, the pieces empowered women with the elegance of Japanise fabrics and feminine embellishments with a practical tailoring.
