The Thin Gold Line is Cinematic Collection is a series of four beautiful ultra minimalist postersprinted in Italy aiming to explore a new artistic concept through movie’s archetypes.
Each poster of this Collection reveals the traces iconic movies left on the collective unconscious by illustrating their essential form though respecting aesthetic and philosophical criteria. Golden line is the synthesis of the most minimal and artistic shape with the highest possible recognizability, making it the symbol that best conveys the core of a movie.
Our project is all about expressing the contrast between light and dark, and in doing so The Thin Gold Line is also a technical achievement: the posters being the largest and shiniest real hot gold foil stamping realization to date, printed on the blackest paper in the world.

Why Ultra Minimalism? Wanting to evoke unusual feelings and emotions through movie’s archetypes, needed to use a peculiar art style. Minimalism is the contemporary approach to the many realities that surround us. To some people it is a way of life, to others it is also an art style (in architecture, art, design). Being aware that, today, minimalism is becoming more popular, even in poster art, we looked for a different approach.
Hot Gold Foil stamping is an exclusive printing technique that transfers gold foils to a surface at high temperatures with a metallic matrix, and is used as the first choice to ensure the best results for gold prints, beating PANTONE’s metallic inks and silk-printing in luminosity,shininess and overall quality, particularly on black papers. Also, by gently indenting the paper (debossing), foil stamping offers a texture variety that will nicely affects the brightness and reflectiveness of our golden lines.
Black is essential for the The Thin Gold Line, as it is the scenery of the minimalist depictions. Mystery is black, darkness is where the light shines, where the posters will have their meaning restored by your imagination.

For exclusive edition create a unique Thin Gold Line poster based on your profile face (through photographs you will provide). To do so, we will craft a specific metallic matrix that we will use exclusively for your poster. In the bottom, your year of birth will be engraved in Roman numerals. Alternatively, we can use any object of your choice (ex. logo of your company) provided it fits the project.
