Who doesn’t like a hint of drama in their life? This modern home in Wales took that word to a whole other level, making it its main theme to create an interior design style that is both irreverent and utterly stunning. Let’s take a look at this modern home, seemingly taken straight out of our wildest dreams.
This modern home in Wales is home to Pati Robins, husband Colin, daughter Olivia, and two dogs, Sky and Lilly. Living in this rented home for 13 years, as time went by, Pati would collect more and more stunning furniture and decorative accessories that brought the home to what it is now: a haven and an inspiration for design lovers. A place with such personality that we find ourselves feeling like it’s our own home.
The style? Dark eclectic, a mix of styles in dark but rich colors, maximalist with a touch of glam. That’s how Pati Robins describes it, and we couldn’t agree more. From a grand chandelier to a black leather sofa and strong statement wall decor, the living room already screams rock glam. Strong and fierce, this is a living room to die for.
Pati and her family have always been collectors of things they are passionate about, such as photography and art, and it’s no surprise that they were widely inspired by 80’s music. The pops of color amidst the dark is the quirky touch needed for this home. As the house is small, you’ll find that the space is practical and functional, taking even the corners to be able to provide spaces like a dining room. They make it work and we’re enchanted!
We can’t stop obsessing over this kitchen. Trendy, modern and extremely charming, we find a touch of boho chic in it that is certainly impossible to resist. High shelves provide even more storage and it’s a trend for this year, so we’re on board with this cozy and beautiful kitchen design.
An area for bar stools can be found in the house as well, along with a garden with a pergola and dining area as well. We love both, obviously, and we’re more than into the industrial style and color palette, rich forest green, grey and black.

Surprisingly enough, you can find quite a few DIY furniture pieces in this house, done by Pati herself. And because her husband is a disabled army veteran, adaptations to their home were necessary, such as in the stairs or bedroom, where a lift was in both. The bathroom, besides being redecorated, was adapted as well.
The bedroom is a dream come true of rich yellow, grey, forest green and tropical patterns matching with black. Under all those layers of things in the master bedroom there is a bed lift hidden, especially adapted for her husband’s comfort and independence. The fireplace in the master bedroom was also a great plus that was decorated in a stunning way. The mirror above it helps make the bedroom feel even bigger.
Again, DIY is present in her daughter’s room, in the bed’s headboard, as well as in the desk in the same bedroom. Pati doesn’t stop surprising us and by now, we’re already head over heels! Nothing better than a good inspiration for another interior design project!
