Mixing of metals
Interior designer Kelly says that mixing hot metals, such as copper and rose gold, with cool colors like silver is the deco trend of the moment. Los Angeles designer Jamie Bush has agreed, saying he is no longer interested in matching each metal finish in one piece: “It’s too organized.”
The navy blue
Stylist of Los Angeles, Sasha Emerson has reinforced the versatility of this color: “It plays so well with other colors, such as pink, beige, gray, coral and salmon.”
Graphic Carpet
Whether as a Motherwell or a Monet, a carpet that is visually fluid with irregular patterns breaks the grid of rectangular pieces and furniture! A must for modern interior design!
Smoked Glass
Kelly Wearstler opts for smoked glass to “create tension between raw and refined, masculine and feminine”. This smoke “adds a sense of mystery and intrigue to an otherwise typical material,” she says.
