The architect Francesco Della Femina, who designed the interiors of the new Kiton brand boutique in Munich, wanted the customers to feel at home in their walls.

Before offering Ciro Paone, the founder of Kiton, a new boutique concept in Munich, Francesco Della Femina went to the main headquarters and the brand’s workshop in Arzano, near Naples. He wanted to understand what the company is and what their approach to work is. It turned out that this is a family business and they treat their customers as family members. So the architect came up with the idea to make a Kiton boutique similar to a residential interior.

Inspired by the luxury of the Neapolitan palazzo Nobile, Francesco decided that all the rooms in the boutique should be an enfilade. He decorated the doorways with carved casing from the walnut. “I attach special importance to them: they designate the border, but at the same time beckon to take the next step,” – explains the architect. The rooms are similar in design, but differ in color.

The main element in each room was, of course, clothing. That’s why the walls somehow did not decorate especially, and the curtains were hung with a small drawing, which from afar is indistinguishable. But they paid special attention to the ceiling – it was pasted with geometric wallpaper Cole & Son. They should be associated with the frescoes painted by the ceilings of the Italian palaces.

On the second floor of the boutique is a staircase made of brass and marble, the steps of which are highlighted, which gives the impression that they are floating in the air. The walls in the stairwells are covered with striped wallpaper according to Francesco’s sketches. The space at the top is divided into two zones: female and male. In the first – furniture of rounded forms and details from a brass, and in the second – angular subjects of an interior and a lot of brutal bronze. For the image of the palazzo, plaster copies of bas-reliefs from the Roman Pantheon and stately doors covered with silk cloth Dedar answer here. “Materials and textures create the right atmosphere,” explains Della Femina. – It seems that these are the doors to the treasury. In the studio Kiton there is really a mystery – fitting clothes to fit. ”

Home environment here are photographs that capture what is dear Ciro Paone. “We specifically looked for old pictures from the atelier and the workshops of Kiton. There are landscapes of Capri here, “says the architect. Pictures of this island came here not by chance. Francesco Della Femina was born in Capri, and the Paone family has a villa there, but they never crossed paths before working on this project.

The interiors of the new boutique were presented to the owners and the public in one day, and the reaction of Ciro Paone was expected: “Just like at home!” That’s why the project got the name Casa Kiton and its concept is going to be repeated in boutiques in Paris and New York.
