It sounds too good to be true, right? Finally, our favorite design tradeshows are back in business, and all design lovers will have the chance to see with their own eyes the new design trends, and discover the novelties their favorite brands have for them! Maison et Objet 2022 started yesterday, and during 5 days, we’ll see the best of the design field.
If you’ve found your dream home and plan to stay there a lifetime, it’s worth seeking furniture pieces that will work through decades of life moments with you. Sometimes, the investment into a furniture piece that you know will become an heirloom later on in life is worth the splurge. Maison & Objet is the perfect place to search for the best of the best!
For this new edition, Maison&Objet puts luxury in the spotlight and invites us to re-examine its various creative iterations. Will you be tempted by “Uber Luxury”, or “Lux Populis”?
A strong theme that will bring people together around an exploration of the different aspects of the “New luxury”, with exhibitors present across the 14 sectors covering the whole range of styles and product offerings in decoration, design and lifestyle. Exceptional installations by famous names will showcase even more new products, innovations and talented designers, while fascinating interludes will inspire you as never before and make sure your visit takes place under the best possible conditions.

The former combines fine crafts with new technology, with one foot in the past and the other firmly in the future. In this trend, designers develop materials with the help of physicists, fabrics are adorned with silk, copper, and LED threads, sofas become fully connected objects, and waiting lists grow longer for these ever-more-exclusive objects of desire.

SUSTAINABLE BRANDS
How can we meet consumers’ increasing demand for sustainable design that respects the environment? Patricia Beausoleil from Peclers Paris offers analysis of this search for meaning and this yearning for a return to age-old principles of simplicity and naturalness, through a selection of creative, innovative, and sustainable new products.
NEW LUXURY

Riding the new lifestyle wave, Covet House promises to break all the rules and bring a new polish to its stand in Hall 7, booth B50 – C49. The Portuguese design brand has a wide selection of the best lighting and furniture design pieces that will match all needs and tastes.

MAXIMALISM MARVEL
“Minimalism was so popular (and still is) for so long that maximalism is bound to continue to make a comeback. Maximalism is all about embracing ‘extra’—be it a floral velvet, bullion fringe, or a 19th century French Commode. Or all three at once! I think richly hued palettes with layers of color and texture will take over in the new year. Texture like mohair, it is a luxurious fabric with a soft hand and makes for a gorgeous texture.” Sarah Stacey says.
