The revolution of mentalities in the late 60’s is the theme of the new exhibition of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The show brings together 350 objects, including photographs, records and clothes, which symbolize the beginning of a cultural revolution.
“There were many legal changes in this period. But the exhibition also depicts the change in thinking, new ways of life, rejection of authority and the idea of independence that characterizes this period,” said Victoria Broackes, curator of the exhibition.

Music played an important role in changing mindsets in the 60s The Jimi Hendrix guitar and Beatles clothing are some of the cult objects displayed in the London museum.
“The pop stars of that period were gods and exerted a great influence in society, for example the level of clothing or shops frequented. The clothes worn by the artists on the covers of albums were important in the culture of that period, “added the official.
60 are also marked by the era of mass consumption and the pacifist movements, two trends illustrated by a series of iconic objects.
The exhibition can be visited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until 26 February 2017.
