Going to India is a big deal. If you’re from Europe, or America, you won’t want to go to India for just a couple of days. You will need at least one full week to enjoy just some of the wonders this amazing country has to offer. We advise you to not pack light! Aside from your one or two suitcases, you should definitely take a small backback. It will come in handy when you’re roaming around the city, buying everything you love.
2. Clothing
As far as clothing goes, if you’re traveling all over India, you want to be prepared to find all kinds of weather. However, make sure to pack beachwear and light clothes. A lot of linen of recommended, being one of the freshest and lightest fabrics you can wear. You should also remember to wear a hat at all times, because chances Sun will be with you for the most part of the day are actually very high!
3. Shoes
Another absolute essential is comfortable footwear, especially walking shoes or sneakers. Be prepared to walk a lot, amidst a lot of people. Unless you’re going to India for a business trip, you should only pack comfortable shoes, sneakers and, a couple of sandals and/or flip flops.
4. Travel pillow
Yes… A travel pillow! Not only will you be flying for a lot of hours, but if you’re traveling within India, you will be catching a lot of buses and get in a lot of trains. And, spoiler alert!, it might not be the most comfortable trip of your life. A travel pillow will ease some of your neck pain and make your experience a little bit more comfortable.
5. Gadgets
Technology is with us everywhere! And if you’re taking the trip of a lifetime, there are two essential gadgets you can’t forget: your phone, and your camera. Along with you phone, make sure to carry an electric converter, as well as your charger. We also advise you to get a new SIM card when you get to India, to make sure you will have data on the go, at least in big cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, etc… A camera is crucial if you love photography, and if you want to take as many photos as you wish without compromising your phone storage. Don’t forget to pack your camera charger and an extra memory card!
6. Toiletries
Yes… It might be an inconvenience at the airport security if you’re carrying a cabin baggage, but there are a few essentials you can’t forget. Although you can purchase pretty much all toiletries once you get to India, make sure you take your own medicines, as well as your toothbrush and a small shampoo and deodorant for emergencies. Remember to take aspirins and any other medicine you might be taking!
7. Food
Finally, food. Yes, chances are you might not even need this. India is known for its amazing gastronomy and spicy food. But that is also where things can go wrong.
