St Patrick’s Day 2017: Celebrate with Green Furniture

Today is the 17th of March, which means it’s the day the world turns green. Why? It’s St Patrick’s Day and, today, Essential Home will show you something different but related with this subject: Green Furniture.

This is a cultural and religious celebration, in honor of the death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

Besides being a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, there are also celebrations around the world, mainly in Great Britain, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Green has been associated with Ireland since at least 1640, when the Irish Catholic Confederation used the green harp flag. During the 1790s, green would become associated with Irish nationalism and throughout the 19’s and 20’s the association with St Patrick’s Day grew.
