Designed by Patricia Urquiola, this hotel combines the essence of Milan. She created a colorful interior, that reflects the personality of the Capital of Fashion and, when it comes to the use of materials and elements, it has a great connection with the city.
The lobby’s floor is made of pink marble – the same used in the Duomo of Milan. The geometric patterns also refer to the graphic art, an important element of the cultural history of the city, and the terracotta bricks are another typical feature. Guests can admire works of Milanese artists, photographers and illustrators throughout the venue.
Its 85 rooms are divided into 5 categories – standard, superior, deluxe, junior suite and penthouse with terrace. On the following images, you can see some details of a Deluxe Room.
The rooms refer to typical Italian domestic spaces, with a Vintage touch, creating an essential and very familiar space. The goal is to make guests find everything they need to live temporarily in the rooms, as if they were at home.
Cassina Contract worked alongside the architect, coordinating the furnishing project for the rooms and public areas. It was produced tailor-made furnishings for the hotel – including beds, tables, desks, sofa beds, wardrobes, mirrors, reception desks, and a lot more.
“Room Mate Giulia has a lively personality and promises guests a unique experience in Milan”
Urquiola says that working with Room Mate “has been a wonderful experience” and that she “had complete freedom”.
