Paris Design Week will kick off on the 7th of September, and there are a few events you don’t want to miss.
From September 7 until the 11th, design professionals and lovers are invited to gather in the city of lights for another exciting edition of Paris Design Week. Similarly to previous editions, there are a few events you can’t afford to miss, and a multitude of new conferences, press days and cocktail parties designed to make this one of the biggest celebrations of design in the world. In preparation for Paris Design Week, we have put together a list of the events around town you won’t want to miss for the world.

LE OFF
Held every year before Paris Design Week kicks off at Les Docks, LE OFF will be happening between September 5 and 9, giving you the opportunity to see the New Design Talents and Emerging Design Brands from around the world. There will also be a conference moment, The Talks which will feature discussions with the most influential figures in the contemporary design industry.
Maison & Objet
Maison & Objet will be the center stage for the whole duration of Paris Design Week 2018. Yet again, hundreds of brands will come together at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center to showcase their designs and introduce some of their new products before the year comes to an end. It is the last opportunity you will get to see your favorite furniture brand live before the big Maison & Objet edition of January 2019, and score some great business opportunity.
Moving over to the city center, Paris Design Week will be scattered over four design districts where exciting events will be taking place: Barbés-Stalingrad-Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, Ópera-Concorde-Étoile, Les Halles-Marais-Bastille, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Below you can see the city map and some of the events we are most excited about.
Opening Disderot Paris Design Week
On the 8th of September at 6PM doors to Disderot will open for a formal opening of the Paris Design Week and the presence of the world renowned brand in the design celebration. There will be a presentation of Disderot’s latest collection with new luminaires and, we are sure of it, a few cocktails to celebrate this occasion.
Boffi and Knoll Press Days
Two of the biggest furniture brands in the world, Knoll and Boffi will be hosting Press Days in their showrooms. Boffi Paris will open its doors to all the invitees on the 6th of September from 8AM until 5PM where they will meet with the press and talk about their latest designs and projects, giving a press presentation before Paris Design Week begins.
Knoll, on the other hand, will have its showroom open for everyone who wishes to visit them, giving special attention to the press, as they introduce their new collections, including the Red Baron bookcase and a new version of the Grasshopper table, designed by Piero Lissoni.
Copenhagen Creatives X Paris Design Week
On a more relaxed note, you can attend Copenhagen Creatives X Paris Design Week at Maison du Danemark on the 10th of September from 5PM to 9PM. The entrance is free to whoever chooses to visit Maison du Danemark and there you will find a relaxed ambience with cocktails, artists talks and a small presentation of the exhibition Copenhagen Creatives.
Soirée de lancement Porcelanosa Grupo
One day before Paris Design Week begins, on the 6th of September between 5PM and 10PM you will also have the chance to attend Porcelanosa Group’s soirée de lancement. This is an invitation only event, so make sure you get your hands on one of those coveted invites. The soirée will celebrate Porcelanosa’s 30th year in the French market, at the same time they unveil their new products in before hand.
Covet Paris Soirée
Covet Paris will also be hosting a soirée on the 8th of September, giving you an opportunity to network with other design professionals such as interior designers, architects and decorators at the same time you see some Covet Group’s most coveted pieces live. Essential Home will also be there to celebrate design and give you a tour of the Parisian showroom.
