In 1949, engineer Ahmed Chahroudi bought the island and commissioned Wright to design the house. Originally, the architect drew a 5,000-square-foot house that the owner could not afford, so the project suffered a resize to 1,200-square-foot cottage instead. Instead. years later, the island was bought by John Massaro who decided to bring Wright’s original plans to life, enlisting an architect and Wright scholar to finish the project in 2007.

Nonetheless, the charm is there, from the beautiful interiors to the skylights.
The natural light and wooden ceilings with layers are especially stunning, but when it all comes together with natural elements such as the rocks on the walls, organically merging with the surroundings, it’s really a beautiful picture in its whole.
