A Colorful Mid-Century Modern Apartment in Sofia You Need to See!

To finish our working week, today we are sharing with you a bright and colorful apartment located in the heart of Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia. Designed by dontDIY, the project was thought for a businessman who has a passion for photography and everything travelling-related. Located on the last floor of an old four-storey building in Yavorov – the first residential complex built in Sofia in the mid 20th century near the city center – this gorgeous mid-century modern apartment will definitely steal your heart!

The neighborhood where we can find this modern home features a lot of small parks and gardens which are all made visible and accessible in every room, creating a sense of openness and contact with the outside throughout the house.

The modern apartment has an open space kitchen-dining-living room while large-scale wood panel doors separate it from the vestibule and the study.

A green staircase connects the main level with the attic while also storing the kitchen appliances. The sleeping area is somewhat hidden as its door is part of the large white bookcase in the living room, and it has a separate bathroom, a closet, and built-in wardrobe.

The black pendants lamps in the middle of the living room area create a stunning color blocking effect over the bright yellow/green two-seat sofa. The scandinavian center tables create a sense of easiness and minimalist in the room, not overdoing the decor.

The flexibility of the project allows the possible future separation of the attic space into an independent sleeping area as it has its own wardrobe and bathroom, while the study room on the first floor can be easily used as an additional kids room.
