Welcome to Celebrity Homes, where we take a weekly tour of some of our favorite (and yours!) celebrities’ homes!
Ashley Tisdale has made quite a career for herself, making it big in the start of the 2000s with High School Musical and her own solo music career. Now, years later, she continues sharing her love for music on social media. Today, we take a tour of Ashley Tisdale’s Hollywood Hills home, a stunning laid-back chic home where she and her husband live peacefully with their dog. Follow us and know more about one of the best celebrity homes you’ll see!
After getting married, Ashley Tisdale, her composer husband, Christopher French, and their dog, were searching for the perfect home for their small family. However, she had one rule during that search: whatever home they’d find, she’d want to renovate with her father, contractor Mike Tisdale. Ever since she was young, she was drawn to her father’s ability to renovate old homes without ever sacrificing their original character. That’s what she wanted when she found her 1930 colonial home, even though it took almost a year and a half to find their perfect home!
When they found their perfect home, it was up to her father, Ashley and the help of interior designer Jake Arnold from 4C Design Group to renovate the beautiful 1930s home. Jake Arnold had already designed Ashley’s favorite bathroom so she knew in her heart whom to choose to help redecorate her home. He decided to bring a minimalistic vibe that combined laid-back chic with layers, vintage touches a unique feel.
Arnold helped them find design treasures they already possessed, much like French’s SHepard Fairey that now hangs in the couple’s living rooms. “I actually tried to make Chris get rid of that painting because it didn’t fit the style of our last house,” Tisdale says. “I’m so glad he ignored me.”
“Chris has a studio here. I wrote my new album, Symptoms, here—my first album since 2009,” Tisdale says, pointing out the creativity and peacefulness they feel within their new home. “I became CEO of my company, Illuminate Cosmetics, here. Renovating this place has been perfectly in line with where we’re going in our careers.”
It took eight months to get their home up and ready, with the final project being the fresh and airy master bedroom that Tisdale personally loves. Little vintage touches are evident in the use of wooden center tables with unique legs and stunning armchairs. The lighting used was minimal, much due to the amount of natural light that they definitely made the most of.
After the stunning design of Jake Arnold‘s bathroom done for Julianne Hough that Ashley Tisdale fell in love with, it was time to design one for their home, and, once again, Arnold nailed it. Keeping it minimal and airy, the bathroom turned to Tisdale’s daily escape. “I love a good tub, and that view saves me,” says Ashley.
One thing she would change? Perhaps only the dark floors that Jake Arnold adored. “Jake thought black looked good. It’s beautiful and so chic, but I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much time cleaning footprints. I’m a little OCD, and we’ve had to become a shoe-free house. But it looks amazing, and we’re so happy with it,” she remembers.
