If you’re a design lover like us, then you’re probably looking for the right destinations to enjoy design and art even on your days off. Well, you’ve come to the right place, we’ve gathered some of the best destinations for all design lovers to visit this Summer, and they are unforgettable.

The Hamptons

Market Art + Design returns to Bridgehampton, New York, July 5–7—perfect timing for anyone planning to spend the 4th of July weekend in the Hamptons. If you’ve got some days off, best to enjoy them discovering 80 galleries presenting modern and contemporary art and design at this incredible fair. There’s also some incredible boho chic homes and french inspired luxury hotels to book, fit for any taste.

The Loire Valley

The 500th anniversary of the Renaissance is being celebrated throughout France and Italy this year, tied to the anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. It’s the perfect time to visit The Loire Valley, where the biggest celebration will be held. The ninth annual edition of the Chambord Festival will celebrate Italy this year, kicking off on June 28 and continuing until July 13 with concerts throughout the Château de Chambord’s estate and gardens. There are plenty of luxury hotels to stay at that are simply a wonder of design, like the just-opened Hôtel Château du Grand Lucé in a restored 18th century castle, or the beautiful Relais de Chambord, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which opened last year.

Telluride, Colorado

Maybe this isn’t your first thought when thinking about where to visit during the Summer, but we guarantee you there are plenty of great reasons to visit the mountains in July. If you’re a design/art lover, then be sure to attend the annual Telluride Art + Architecture Weekend July 20–21 for an inside look at historic and new homes, studios, art exhibits, and more. Networking, artist talks, cocktail parties, even a walking tour of downtown Telluride, where you’ll be able to enjoy great architecture. Be sure to keep this one on your travel list.

Santa Fe

In July, the inaugural Santa Fe Art Week (July 12–21) will feature several events in one: International Folk Art Market and Art Santa Fe, as well as 100 other eventsincluding openings, art walks, workshops, and more at some of the city’s 250 galleries, museums, and destinations. Be sure to stay over one one of the luxurious inns and hotels Santa Fe has to offer, such as the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi.

Matera, Italy

Matera has been named a European Capital of Culture for 2019 and it’s exactly where you should be heading this July. This Summer is a good time to visit because you can catch the exhibit “Shameful Architecture,” which kicks off on July 23 and explores shifting perceptions of architecture, such as Matera’s own cave dwellings that were once called “the Shame of Italy” and are now protected by UNESCO.
