Darr\u00e9\u2019s professional premises occupy a handful of high-ceilinged rooms on the third floor of 13 Rue Royale, a limestone mansion that was constructed in the 18th century by architect Louis Le Tellier. To Darr\u00e9\u2019s delight, the building is just a few grand doors up from another Le Tellier building that once housed the legendary Jansen design studio. \u201cMy desk is Jansen,\u201d he proudly says of the vintage metal writing table standing center stage in the silver office.<\/p>\n

Darr\u00e9 is so pleased with the effervescent mise-en-sc\u00e8ne that he\u2019ll be hosting everything from lunches to cocktail parties there, inviting painters, designers, actors, writers, and the like, in the manner of a mod Proustian salon.<\/p>\n

As you can understand, most of his projects are very extravagant and they make you feel like you are inside a fantasy world. The result is always different from everything else.<\/p>\n
