\nSandra Nunnerley<\/strong><\/em> is called one of the most fashionable designers in New York. This is curious, because if you look at the houses and apartments she has designed, then the language does not turn to call her style a vector of movement of modern design ideas. It is much closer to the truth to define them as interiors \u201cout of time\u201d \u2013 such could be and our parents, and, probably, in similar houses and apartments our children will live. They are collected from modern and antique furniture, but the spirit of eclecticism is drowned out in classical elegance.<\/h5>\n

The only thing that Sandra\u2019s artistic approach gives out \u2013 and, probably, this made her famous \u2013 is bright modern art, which is present in large numbers in almost all of her projects.<\/p>\n

Sanda Nunnerley is from New Zealand. At Sydney University, she studied architecture. Then she worked for some time at the leading art gallery in Australia \u2013 Bonython Gallery. Invaluable experience was not enough to tie the future designer to his native land, and she, like many other young Australians, decided to go on a great journey through Europe. But, unlike many, having mastered the Old World, she did not return home, but moved overseas. New York beckoned with its cultural life and the world of contemporary art.<\/p>\n

In the unrecognized capital of America, Sandra managed to get a job at the Marlborough gallery \u2013 but just an intern. But this did not stop her from rotating in the circle of outstanding contemporary artists and absorb their approach to style and art. Sandra considers that period of her life as defining for herself: she lived in the heart of the fashionable life of Manhattan. Needless to say, New York was difficult to replace, and Sandra settled there and settled in an apartment in Lower Manhattan. But soon she had the opportunity to change her place of residence.<\/p>\n

Once familiar realtor called Sandra with almost insider information about the sale of two apartments in the townhouse of the architectural bureau Carr\u00e8re and Hastings. The house itself definitely deserved attention. The location was beautiful \u2013 two steps from the Central Park, that is, you could literally wake up from singing birds, and on weekends make walks there. According to the designer, \u201cmake-up\u201d by nature is simply vital for her. In addition, the new home was very convenient to get to the office of Sandra Nunnerley Inc. It was now within walking distance.<\/p>\n

It must be said that Carr\u00e8re and Hastings is one of the most outstanding architectural bureaus of the 19th and early 20th centuries. They have been able to gain worldwide recognition and have been engaged in the design of both commercial and residential properties both in America and abroad \u2013 their buildings still stand in Toronto, London, Paris, Rome and Havana. It was the Bureau of Carr\u00e8re and Hastings who was entrusted with the interiors of the Metropolitan Opera, and in 1987 the building of the New York Public Library. In general, the house in which Sandra offered to settle, was a very worthy option for housing.<\/p>\n

In the first of two now united apartments Sandra demolished one of the walls and got a spacious square living room with large windows \u2013 she had long dreamed of such. In the same place, she replaced the floor \u2013 she covered it with wide oak boards, modern, but giving the impression of vintage. And the designer cut through the small French windows in the floor, and separated the kitchen wall from the living quarters.<\/p>\n

Otherwise Sandra Nunnerley stayed true to herself \u2013 she made an elegant, not oversaturated color interior. But she created bright fashionable accents with the help of modern art objects.<\/p>\n
