Born in La Spezia, Gaetano Pesce started his activity during the 60\u2019s, realising great pieces of design destined to impress the national and international market. His remarkable\u00a0work has been recognised with important award winning designs, such as Chrysler Award for Innovation and Design, the Architektur and Wohnen Designer of the Year, and the Lawrence J. Israel Prize from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.<\/p>\n

The secret of his success consists in his ability of surprising his public with groundbreaking and revolutionary pieces of modern art, that make his creations unique and inimitable.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of his career, he has given a proof of his astonishing, odd and eccentric spirit. In \u201cManodidio\u201d ashtray (1969) he realised the hand of Jesus Christ on the Cross, with a realistic reproduction of the wounds of Christ\u2019s passion in the human body, which elevates this piece of design as one of Pesce\u2019s most impressive creations.<\/p>\n

A completely different example of modern art is given by \u201cSenza fine Unica\u201d, an armchair in polychrome PVC, which undefined boundaries break all the rules of geometrical regularity.<\/p>\n

Another piece of stunning modern art is represented by a chair in polyurethane resin, that consists in a reproduction of a devil face, which gives the name to the furniture itself.<\/p>\n

Recreation of spirit entities and human faces are a constant in his eclectic creations. This clearly emerges in one of his last pieces of design: a mirror that shows the face of a girl with an engaging smile, emphasized with\u00a0a brilliant red lipstick.\u00a0A superbe piece of art that would impress even the most skeptical audience.<\/p>\n

The reproduction of girls faces are the main subjects of other furnitures made by Pesce, such as \u201cSome of us\u201d, an irregular lamp in resin (2010) and \u201cNobody\u2019s perfect\u201d armchair (2002).<\/p>\n
