Whether it is residential design, villa, or even commercial projects the Italian design studio<\/a><\/span><\/strong> has become one of the most renowned experts not only in Italy but also worldwide.\u00a0 It\u2019s founder, Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong> was born in Zibello (Parma) in 1965 and studied architecture at the Politecnico of Milan where he graduated in 1992. Most of his design projects<\/a><\/span><\/strong> have been published in the international press, such as the most influential interior design magazine<\/a><\/span><\/strong>s and books of architecture in Italy and all over the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passionate about the world of design<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and all of its creative possibilities, Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong> has featured a strong aesthetic and sense of beauty from a young age. \u201cMemories of details in my friends\u2019 houses or in hotels during family vacations have monopolized my imagination since early childhood. Since then, beauty to me represented a matter of proportions, colors and details\u201d, he explained to the luxury design magazine.<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his twenties, the Italian designer started working for historic architectural firms in Milan, such as Studio BBPR and Gregotti. A few years later, in 1995, Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong> moved to New York to be the consultant architect of one of the most famous luxury design<\/a><\/span><\/strong> groups in the world, also known as Versace. \u201cThough his style was different from mine and rather decorative, I found his creativity and taste for colors very inspiring.\u201d During that time, according to the CovetED Magazine<\/span><\/strong>,<\/a> the Italian interior designer <\/a><\/span><\/strong>was challenged with the renovation of Gianni Versace\u2019s townhouse and the historic Vanderbilt Mansion, the main flagship store on Fifth Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After working as a consultant for Gianni Versace, the Italian firm<\/a><\/span><\/strong> worked on the image or other distinguished brands, like Aldo Coppola, Liberty of London, Linea pi\u00f9- A2A, Stybiella, and Colefax & Fowler. In 1996, Donati decided to create not only his own firm \u201cCarlo Donati Studio<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u201d, but also the \u201cFarnese Contract\u201d with Adriano Donati and Massimo Avanzini, which operates as a general contractor, working with the most successful design studios. \u201cIn every project, I design custom made furniture, both for residential or retail projects because I believe that each work requires special attention to furniture details\u201d, said the Italian designer<\/a><\/span><\/strong> to the CovetED<\/a><\/span><\/strong> team.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a peculiar contemporary signature style that features deep roots in the past, Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong> loves to search for inspiration in the architectural landmarks and Italian design references<\/a><\/span><\/strong> of the post-war modernism (like\u00a0 Gio Ponti, Osvaldo Borsani, Franco Albini), as well as the magic abstract scenography by Bob Wilson, the interiors in Stanley Kubrick\u2019s or Quentin Tarantino\u2019s movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In every design project<\/span><\/strong>,<\/a> no matter the style (contemporary, mid-century or modern), Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2019s minimalist approach is always contaminated by chromatic and graphic suggestions inspired by the theme chosen in the planning process. Obsessed with perfection and attention to every detail, the Italian designer<\/a><\/span><\/strong> loves to use both artificial and natural light to emphasize volumes and perspectives of his design project.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, every project is unique, so it\u2019s important to include in the design, unique furniture ideas<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> specially tailored to each interior.\u00a0 With a career filled with some of the world\u2019s most inspiring design<\/a><\/span><\/strong>s, Carlo shares special care for two of his projects. \u201cI think the projects that are most representative of our work are the villa LA modern and Loft A.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Italian design studio<\/a><\/span><\/strong> is currently working on a new residential building with luxury apartments and utilities in Milan downtown. \u201cI believe it\u2019s important to be very updated on the actual trends of the industry but at the same time to be able to work on different tracks out of the mainstream in order to anticipate new trends, be original and try in our little field to be some kind of disruptive\u201d, enlightened Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong> to the CovetED Magazine team<\/span><\/strong>.<\/a> His constant research for new material solutions and the attention for the chromatic palette is what makes his design projects<\/a><\/span><\/strong> so exclusive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides creating unique interior design projects<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, the Carlo Donati studio<\/span><\/em><\/strong> entered the world of furniture design<\/a><\/span><\/strong> production with the presentations of two incredible collections: \u201cReloaded\u201d collection and another one that was the result of the exclusive partnership with the renowned Italian artist Petrus. Both of these designs were introduced at Fuorisalone Milan 2018 and 2019, respectively. Currently, they are working with a brand-new collection for the famous European mid-century modern design<\/a><\/span><\/strong> brand known as Essential Home<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Donati, this partnership was the perfect opportunity to combine the great tradition of the master artisans, through the finest Portuguese craftsmanship culture, with a more Mediterranean mood<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. His main goal with this mid-century collection<\/a><\/span><\/strong> was to introduce \u201clightness, sixties patterns, some kind of \u2018joie de vivre\u2019- very Italian. Like the atmosphere in \u2018La dolce vita\u2019 -Federico Fellini\u2019s masterpiece.\u201d This is might be one of the most memorable collections<\/a><\/span><\/strong> ever created by the amazing Carlo Donati<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
