The renowned British designer,\u00a0Tom Dixon<\/span><\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0presented a creative series of\u00a0furniture\u00a0desig<\/a>n<\/a>s<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that are a representation of the trendy eco-friendly concept that is starting to become quite popular in the design world<\/span><\/strong>.<\/a> This unique collection<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, according to Dixon, came from a nostalgic place: the house he lived in when he was a child had\u00a0cork\u00a0floors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made from\u00a0entirely from cork, this brand new furniture collection<\/a><\/span><\/strong> by Tom Dixon<\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0that has been charred to give it a rich, deep brown colour reminiscent of rosewood. The\u00a0Cork collection<\/span><\/em><\/strong> is composed by a modern shelf<\/a><\/span><\/strong> with plenty of storage space, a unique stool<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and three tables, with chubby, rounded silhouettes that are designed to let the material shine. With a rocky appearance, the line made one of the world\u2019s best interior designers<\/span><\/strong> <\/a>invests in a material that is natural, recyclable and biodegradable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring a sleek Scandinavian aesthetic and soft round edges, Tom Dixon <\/span><\/em><\/strong>explained that his natural material with great warmth and tactility is one of the best resources from the interior design<\/a><\/span><\/strong> world since it is absorbent, fireproof, water-resistant and lighter than water, perfect for transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the pieces from Tom Dixon<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2018s new furniture collection<\/span><\/strong> <\/a>are made in Portugal<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. The British interior designer<\/span><\/strong><\/a> looked out for the best cork materials with the same Portuguese manufacturer<\/span><\/strong><\/a> that is also supplying cork for\u00a0the 2020 Serpentine Pavilion\u00a0designed by South African architecture studio,\u00a0Counterspace. After modelling the furniture, the remaining production residues are granulated and compressed into new cork blocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
