Imagine what it is like to go to an after-party in a hotel and meet up with famous celebrities such as Chris Rock, Michael B Jordan or Benedict Cumberbatch. This is an after party that was prepared to celebrate the anniversary of Donatella Versace and it was the purest and improvised Met Gala 2019<\/strong><\/em> after party that it could be, with performances no one was expecting and more! Let\u2019s have a look.<\/p>\n

The Standard hotel in New York was the target of attention recently for a quite exciting reason: the Met Gala<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0after party. All the incredible\u00a0attendees of the Met Gala joined in an after party that celebrated distinguished events, such as the hotel\u2019s 10th anniversary,\u00a0newlyweds Idris and Sabrina Elba and Donatella Versace\u2019s recent birthday.<\/p>\n

The evening was full of unexpected performances and unforgettable moments, starting with a surprise performance by Lizzo on top of the iconic gold bar. She got the crowd dancing and singing to her hits \u201cJuice\u201d and \u201cTempo\u201d that was really a party starter. Next up, Idris Elba grabbed the mic giving a rendition of his new track \u201cBoasty\u201d, in the DJ booth alongside A$AP Ferg, while Celine Dion shimmied across the floor to join in the party.<\/p>\n

Honoring Donatella\u2019s recent birthday, Idris and Edward Enninful surprised the designer, showering her with cake and tequila shots while Rita Ora and Sabrina Elba sang happy birthday on top of the bar!<\/p>\n

After midnight, guests enjoyed burgers and fries while Idris, Sabrina, DJ D-Nice, and ASAP Ferg continued to hit the decks, followed by jump-up moments from Slick Rick, and the legendary Chris Rock.<\/p>\n

Michael B Jordan went on to the DJ booth one last time to celebrate Idris and Sabrina\u2019s nuptials with a wedding toast. Katy Perry then joined the couple on the mic, in full glittering hamburger attire and went total MC.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was such an honor to host this year\u2019s Met Gala<\/strong><\/em> after party with The Standard\u2026 the Met Gala<\/strong><\/em> is such an iconic event with a strong heritage of championing both art and fashion,\u201d said host Sabrina Elba. \u201cI think we can safely say we gave this year\u2019s theme \u201cCAMP: Notes on Fashion\u201d the after party it deserved!\u201d This was surely an amazing after party that left all the guests tired up but satisfied with all the fun they had.
