ICFF just ended and we already miss it, now it\u2019s time to do a quick recap for those that weren\u2019t able to go.<\/h1>\n

The 30th annual ICFF NYC\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>has come to an end, so here and now it\u2019s time to reflect on what we learned during the fair and do a small review of what were our favorite moments.<\/p>\n

NYCxDESIGN Awards & ICFF Opening Party<\/h2>\n

The NYCxDESIGN Awards & Party<\/strong> is a highlight of NYCxDESIGN<\/strong>, New York City\u2019s annual celebration of design that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees and designers from across the globe. This year it was no different, the NYCxDESIGN Awards<\/strong> honored outstanding products and projects in categories that span major areas of design, from architecture to interiors, from products to accessories, from craft to technology.<\/p>\n

Kicking off the 30th edition of ICFF<\/strong> <\/em>at the must-attend opening Party immediately following the NYCxDESIGN Awards, it\u2019s the Gala Party which featured an open bar, passed hors d\u2019oeuvres and had live entertainment.<\/p>\n

ICFF Announces Silent Auction to End Alzheimer\u2019s and the Education Fund Award presented by\u00a0the IIDA Foundation \u2013 in Memory of Anna Hernandez of Luna Textiles<\/h2>\n
This year for the first time, ICFF<\/strong> <\/em>hosted a silent auction during the fair which proceeds benefited the Alzheimer\u2019s Association and the Anna Hernandez\/Luna Textiles Education Fund Award<\/strong> in memory of Anna Hernandez<\/strong>, the award-winning founder of Luna Textiles, who succumbed to Alzheimer\u2019s at the age of 56. The award recognizes her distinguished career and female business owners whose firms specialize in interior design or product design. The first $5,000 raised will be used to match the Anna Hernandez-Luna Textiles Education Fund Award<\/strong>, given to an up and coming female designer.<\/div>\n

This new design industry initiative involved the fair\u2019s 900 exhibiting companies who were invited to donate the latest designs in flooring, carpets, kitchen & bath products, and art objects to be auctioned off to the ICFF<\/strong> audience of more than 36,000 in a 1,600 square foot pavilion where attendees bidded on items during the course of the four-day fair. After matching the Education Fund Award, the remaining proceeds from the silent auction were donated to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/strong>, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer\u2019s care, support and research.<\/div>\n

The most exciting booth at ICFF 2018 was booth #1719, Covet Group representing brands such as BRABBU<\/a>, Boca do Lobo<\/a>, DelightFULL<\/a> and Essential Home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We were able to see and learn a lot from the other experts in the industry, in the most diverse topics, such as \u201cYou\u2019re Choosing the Right Colors\u2026or Are You? A Look at Color through the Lens of Emotions and Big Data\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cHospitality Trends\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cThe impact of the Internet on the Interior Design Profession\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next in New York City?<\/h2>\n

Missing ICFF was a misjudgement but there\u2019s more to come in the Big Apple this years, for example, just in the month of november there\u2019s two alluring events, The\u00a0Architectural Record Innovation Conference <\/strong>on the 1st of the month and The Salon Art Plus Design<\/strong>\u00a0from the 8th until the 12th<\/p>\n
