Bill Bensley is a world-renowned interior designer and one of the biggest influences in Southeast Asia’s hospitality design industry!
Some describe the hospitality designer‘s signature style as whimsical, wild, and wacky thanks to its unique creative design ideas. One thing we can guarantee, the final result of Bill Bensley’s design projects are always quite exceptional and amazing.
Bill Bensley’s luxurious Bangkok bungalow has been the canvas for some of his most celebrated hotel designs, including the Capella Ubud, the outstanding Four Seasons Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui. Designed with a modern take on the traditional Asian culture, this incredible home design reflects a pure sense of tranquility and style.

With his own design studios based in Bangkok and Bali, Bill Bensley has been designing some of the world’s most iconic luxury hotels, resorts, spas, homes and sometimes even palaces since 1989. For the renowned hotel interior designer, there isn’t a perfect project because only mother nature can achieve perfection. The concept of sustainable and minimalistic design projects is the foundation of his unique design ideas.

During these 27 years, Bill Bensley and his husband’s Bangkok home, known as Baan Botanica, has been the canvas in order to experiment with new things for his next luxury design projects, that is why their home is constantly under renovation. His latest home experiment is all about color.

Inside his amazing Bangkok escape, you can find traces of all Bill Bensley‘s most famous hotel projects. “I can take you around the house and say, ‘The base of this column exists at Capella Ubud, and the top of this bathroom door is Four Seasons Chiang Mai, and this lantern is the prototype for all the lamps that we used at Four Seasons Koh Samui. There are still remnants of pieces here from probably 100 different design projects,” explained the hotel designer to the Architectural Digest team.

The two-story main house layout, which includes a veranda that wraps around the entire home design, are much like Bill Bensley’s design projects since each room has its own eclectic style and personality.

Just like most of his luxury design projects for five-star hotels or luxury homes, Bill Bensley Bangkok’s home design was based on the concept of sustainability. This trendy design concept is most evident in his massive labyrinth of colorful, vibrant outdoor garden rooms.
