Exhibition: “Frida Kahlo. Beyond the Myth”
The 70 paintings, 40 drawings and 150 photographs on show aim to go ‘beyond the myth’ of the feminist artist and icon, and includes numerous works never seen before. This is why the city of Milan staged the most important European exhibition ever devoted to the most famous and acclaimed Mexican woman painter.
“Frida Kahlo. Beyond the myth” intends to overcome the simplistic view of the Mexican artist’s work, derived from the inextricable intertwining of her life and her work, showing that in a serious and thorough analysis of her poetics it is necessary to go beyond the limits of her biography, overcoming the consolidated myth which has been fed by the fashions of the last decades.

Bar Luce
Wes Anderson, best known for films like The Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel, was invited by Prada to create the main dining space inside its new arts centre, which occupies a converted distillery in Largo Isarco, southern Milan.
Named Bar Luce, the space takes references from famous Milanese landmarks and cafes dotted around the city, particularly those dating back to the 1950s and 60s.
“It is for real life, and ought to have numerous good spots for eating, drinking, talking, reading, etc,” said Anderson. “While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in.”
