BEST PICTURE
Lets begin with the most anticipated category of the show. Why not?
The best picture category is always the one with the most nominees. This year, this category has 9 incredible movies up for it and, basically, any one of them could win and it wouldn’t be unfair.
This year, we believe that Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri will take home the gold.
This is the incredible story of a mother that has to cope with her daughter’s rape and murder and, after months of the police doing nothing, she decides to rent a few billboards in her home town to bring shame to the ones that are not doing enough to find the murderer.

BEST DIRECTOR
This category is flooded with amazing talent, being nominated people like Guillermo del Toro, Christopher Nolan and Jordan Peele.
This year, we believe that Guillermo del Toro will be the winner.
His movie, The Shape of Water, is an incredibly beautiful story of a woman who works in a secret government laboratory and her life changes when she finds the labs secret project: a mysterious creature from South America that lives in a tank. They fall in love. This is the story of what happens with that love and what it implies in everybody’s life.

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
For us, the winner of this category has to be Call Me by Your Name.
This movie is set in 1983 and tells the story of how a 17 year old, spending his holiday in Italy with his parents, meets a doctoral student who is working with his father. Soon they fall in love over the beauty of Italy’s nature, in the summer.

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
Many excellent scripts this year and, there are really two big players that can take home the gold: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Get Out.
For us, Get Out is winning.
An excellent film about racism and how a young black man is loured to meet his girlfriends parents who intend to murder him.

BEST ACTOR
Gary Oldman. All the way.
This legendary British actor has had its Oscar well overdue. Now it’s his time.
Besides, his portrait of Winston Churchill was simply splendid. The way he walked, the way he talked, his mannerisms, everything was on point with his performance, so, it is only natural that he is the victor of this year’s edition.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
This category has some amazing actors nominated this year. People like Willem Dafoe, Woody Harrelson and Christopher Plummer.
For us, though, the winner this year is probably going to be Sam Rockwell.
Altough t«he is nominated for supporting actor, Sam proved to be a central piece in Three Billboards and, that is why he will win.

BEST ACTRESS
This one is, although counting with amazing actresses, a no-brainier.
Frances McDormand, all the way.
Her performance in Three Billboards was simply amazing, plus, she has been winning every single award she has been nominated for so… that’s a clue.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
This is a powerful category, with very powerful performances being nominated such has, Mary J Blige’s performance in Mudbound and Octavia Spencer for The Shape of Water.
For us, the winner must be Allison Janney.
Her portrait of Tonya Harding’s Mom was powerful and full of emotion. Truly incredible.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE
Coco. For us, this film takes home the gold because, it showcases some brilliant animation scenes and has a really good story line.
This is the story of Miguel, an aspiring musician whose career is set back by his families history of banning music.
Then, to overcome that, he travels to the Land of the Dead to talk to his great-great-grandfather who is a legendary singer.

Do you agree with our options? Which film do you think will be the biggest winner? Let us know!
