Find Out What You Can Encounter On 2018 AD Show

We know that Architectural Digest Design Show, or AD Show, is more than a month away, but we also know that you will want to be 100% prepared for it!

That’s why this article is totally made for you! 2018 AD Show will have several areas, and we are sure you will want to see them all, but specially the Made, the Refresh and the Diffa’s Dining By Design!

The Made area, is where you can find all the work made by 160 artists and designers (from local and emerging artisans to international studios) showcase original art, fine furniture, sculpture, textiles, and lighting, all of which is available for purchase or special order.

The Refresh area is where innovation is the star. It includes product debuts, remarkable new innovations in technology to state-of-the-art design in ovens, ranges, cooktops, ventilation, bath and decorative hardware, cabinetry, countertops, stone, tile surfaces, windows, doors and more.

Be sure to visit Pier 92 for Diffa’s Dining By Design. The show is home to this spectacular display of cuisine, creativity, and glamour with one-of-a-kind dining environments that awe and inspire. A part of the money raised in this area, is going to be donated in support of DIFFA’s work to fight HIV/AIDS, which makes it a really important area for you to attend.

Dining by Design also features a dynamic silent auction, the legendary Cocktails by Design party on Thursday, March 22nd as well as a closing night Gala on Monday, March 26th.

On this year’s edition, you can also count on acquiring some knowledge of the design world with some of the great renowned artists of the world.

Architectural Digest Trade Seminars will count with 3 different topics:

“Who’s Afraid of the Contemporary Art Market?”

Get the best from a panel of experts on art consultants, commissions, novice collectors, and navigating the labyrinthine, big bucks world of contemporary art. The conversation will be featuring architect William T. Georgis, art advisor Kim Heirston, and curator Yvonne Force Villareal of Art Production Fund.

“What Will The Market Bear?”

Prominent designers and decorative arts dealers survey the current market for top-tier vintage and contemporary design. It will be featuring designer Anthony Ingrao of Ingrao Inc. and decorative arts dealers Evan Snyderman of R & Company and Suzanne Demisch of Demisch Danant.

“Superstar Design: A Conversation with Amy Astley and Martyn Lawrence Bullard”

Join Architectural Digest Editor in Chief Amy Astley and Los Angeles-based interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard for an intimate look at the dynamics of creating homes for some of the world’s most high-profile celebrities, including Tommy Hilfiger, Cher, Ellen Pompeo, and Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian.
