Ever heard of the Shrink the People project? No! It’s not that American movie of the 80’s! This is a work of a Brazilian photographer who portrays images of people in miniatures interacting with objects in their real sizes. According to Renan Viana, creator of the project, the idea appeared in early 2014, during a tour of an antiquarian.

“I found a box with thumbnails, I was impressed by the perfection of the details and the ideas of photos began to appear at the same time. I went home and started researching on the subject, and I saw some fantastic work by photographers around the world. I then decided to use the dolls to create a project where I shrink people and put them in unusual scenes, leading me to imagine what it would be like to be so small in that situation “, explains Renan, who sees his work growing every day.
For him, Instagram is very important because it is the “showcase” that he chose to show his work with the project. “The repercussion of the project in the community surprised me and continues to surprise positively,” adds the photographer, who already has more than 80,000 followers in the social network.
Renan’s photography work had a big impact when he made a kind of release of the then-recently released feature film of Man-Ant, a superhero of Marvel who has the power to drastically reduce in size, which ended up fitting perfectly with The type of work the project was intended to implement.
At the time, a miniature superhero of the size of a dime was used, portrayed in everyday situations with the city of São Paulo as a backdrop.
