Versace opens 5-star hotel in Dubai

Everything in Dubai needs to be the biggest, best and most impressive possible. With the arrival of the Expo 2020, it seems that the city was even more obsessed with getting rid of its large buildings and, in the next four years, it plans to inaugurate the largest shopping mall in the world, in addition to taking back the position of keeper of the building Higher – that is hers today, but in 2019 it will be from Saudi Arabia.

You can imagine that anyone who pretends to create something there knows that they need to invest a lot if they want to stand out. Versace was one of those that decided to venture into the city, taking all its Italian glamor to the second Palazzo Versace (the first is in Australia and the third will be in China), officially inaugurated on Tuesday (15.11). All the mosaics, tiles, chandeliers, pictures and many meters of fabric were specially imported to the hotel in order to mix elements of the two cultures.

Donatella Versace, of course, also landed in Dubai to honor his newest creation, which could not have more to do with his style. The most imposing Imperial Suite seems to have been specially designed to house the stylist, with a private pool and a grand staircase where Donatella met last night with her friends and top models Alessandra Ambrosio, Natasha Poly and Helena Christensen.

For the first time, the brand has also taken its Haute Couture collection to the city and, in the coming days, will receive customers from the United Arab Emirates in private sessions. The dresses, exhibited as works of art in a museum, blended easily into the decoration of space, to the point that they had been idealized especially for the occasion. Part of the profit from the requests made at these meetings will be donated to a philanthropic organization called Dubai Cares, which works to increase access to education for children in developing countries.
