Designer Robin Falck felt the need to have a place of his own, so he set out to build a small cabin for himself. This was the result\u2026<\/h2>\n

Some years ago, young Finish designer Robin Falck<\/strong><\/em> decided he needed a place to call his own. After having found the perfect slot to build his small cabin, Falck set out to build it himself, ending up with a tiny house<\/strong><\/em> amidst a Finish forest that you will not know how to hate.<\/p>\n

What the designer was going for when picturing this country house design<\/strong><\/em> was a way to maximize the small space, at the same time he used recycled materials to obtain a more natural interior<\/strong><\/em>. So, after having the concept mapped out in his head, Robin Falck<\/span><\/a> started to build his \u2018Nido\u2019 (which translates to\u00a0nest<\/em> in Italian).<\/p>\n

What is amazing is that the designer managed to have his tiny house built in only two weeks over the Summer of 2010! If you observe closely, you will see that \u201cthe angle and size of the window gives the interior a lot of natural light, you can even admire the stars during the night,<\/em>\u201d said the designer on his website.<\/p>\n

Curiosity:<\/strong><\/em> the small size of the construction is due to the housing laws of Finland, where you have the right to build a small house of less than 30-40 square meters without special permission.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, how does one create a livable space in such a tiny house? Well, Falck went on to explain that \u201con the first floor, I have a lounge area with a micro-kitchen. The 2nd story loft is for sleeping and storage. All the materials are local or recycled and carried to the spot by hand to keep the nature untouched<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The natural interior is an obvious shout out to eco-design. The decoration is simple, with subtle notes of Scandinavian design and light colors, so as to enjoy all the daylight the small cabin gets during the day.<\/p>\n

There is an outdoor space perfect for a relaxed afternoon in the forest. The raw and natural colors and elements used in both the indoors and outdoors decor emphasizes the eco-design<\/strong><\/em> component Robin Falck wished to convey.<\/p>\n
