With a heavy mid-century influence, Alexander Pollock studio<\/strong> created this luxurious penthouse located on Southbank in Melbourne, the home base for the interior design firm. Much like we would expect from a project located in one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, this whole house was designed to boast a very exotic atmosphere<\/strong>, highlighted by the bright and strong colors chosen by the designers.<\/p>\n

\"An<\/a><\/p>\n

To contrast with the glistening reds and the powerful geometric patterns used on the fabrics, the walls were left plain white, and a solid wood sideboard was placed under an impressive watercolor work. As for the other accent pieces, two oversized armchairs were placed by the window in a white and camel color blocking scheme. The statement lighting design is a custom-made<\/strong>\u00a0mid-century inspired piece<\/a>\u00a0in gold-plated brass and glossy white lacquer on the outside, whilst a gold powder paint was used for the inside of the lampshades for a smoother cast of light.<\/p>\n

In the dining room, the designers kept the feeling of a\u00a0luxurious 1960s mid-century style<\/em>\u00a0by incorporating accent pieces, such as the\u00a0burgundy dining chairs<\/strong>. The sideboard<\/a> next to the dining table helps to enhance that mid-century feeling, featuring a classic style and four square polished brass legs that contrast with the white sliding doors. On what concerns the lighting matter, this time the designers chose a\u00a0contemporary-style chandelier<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Ike<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 with a glossy black and gold-plated brass finish on the outside. Having\u00a0gold-plated elements<\/strong>\u00a0on both\u00a0mid-century lamps<\/em>\u00a0helps to keep the open space room more harmonious and connected.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0master bedroom decor<\/strong>\u00a0is where things get really\u00a0exotic<\/strong>. The wallpaper that was\u00a0chosen\u00a0for the headboard wall displays some stunning golden-like branches as exotic wildlife. The color palette sees a slight shift, with bright colors being replaced by sober whites, navies, and dark grays. However, that feeling of luxury and comfort is a constant throughout the different rooms, and we can see how the designers made sure to make it feel like a whole.<\/p>\n
