Built in 1966 by modernist\u00a0architect\u00a0Howard Lapham<\/strong>, the\u00a09,400-square-foot place is\u00a0the\u00a0largest<\/em>\u00a0known Mid-Century Modern residence in a city known for its architectural schemes. The city\u00a0is well-known for its Mid-Century Modern architectural style, and many residences have been constructed following this trend.<\/p>\n

The house was painted beige. Each room is\u00a0decorated in a different vivid color\u00a0or theme. The kitchen is eggshell\u00a0blue. A\u00a0powder room\u00a0is covered in\u00a0golden tiles and has mirrors on walls, floors, ceilings, and countertops. And the dining room has violet\u00a0walls, drapes, and light fixtures. There\u2019s also a\u00a0red-and-white game room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey love the house, but desire to spend more time overseas\u00a0in Hong Kong and mainland China,\u201d says Histed.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re hoping \u201cMid-Century enthusiasts interested in preserving the historical features and prominence of the property\u201d will snap the place up.<\/p>\n

It will \u201cmost likely be a buyer from out of the area, possibly someone involved in television, cinema, or the arts,\u201d Histed says.<\/p>\n

The eventual buyers\u00a0can count on the current\u00a0owners to help retain the home\u2019s\u00a0authenticity and style.
