The Bernie Grant Arts Centre<\/strong><\/em> in North London has become one of the leading performing arts hosting theater, live music, cinema, and exhibition events. And very recently it was the subject of an artsy revamp by Moran Myerscough. The cafe inside the Bernie Grant Centre received a much-needed makeover after years of the same color palette and materials. What\u00a0Moran Myerscough brought was an exciting new color palette filled with vibrant tones that, paired with bespoke textiles, ceramic tiles, reclaimed materials and houseplants, created a whole new inspiring atmosphere.<\/p>\n

One special addition to this already amazing cafe was the conception of additional spaces for artists to add in their own additional layers and textures as part of a planned commissioning programme over the coming years. Myerscough made sure to design these spaces that the artists could fill in with their own artwork.<\/p>\n

Audrey is a contemporary low pile rug that features a mesmerizing pattern of colored triangles. It uses a synthetic fiber called tencel and it is produced using a cut and loop technique. The bright vivid colors mix with the abstract geometric pattern to produce an amazing rich indoor rug.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"How<\/p>\n

The cheery colors used \u2013 such as greenery \u2013 complemented the reclaimed furniture that was chosen for the new space. The new cafe also features contributions from artists such as Yemi\u00a0Awosile\u00a0and Luke\u00a0Morgan, which transformed the space and embodied the venue\u2019s commitment to promoting and supporting artists and connecting them in a direct conversation with local residents, audiences and visitors. Luke Morgan was in charge of creating the dining tables with painted tops by Morag, while Yemi completed the seating in the gallery area, which is to be installed shortly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Over the years the original intent of the caf\u00e9 had got lost and various layers had been added to the caf\u00e9 and the whole building in fact. The first task was to strip the building back to its original state. Repaint it and relay the floor the gloss back floor,\u2019\u00a0said<\/em>\u00a0Morag Myerscough<\/strong>.\u00a0\u2018The caf\u00e9 is run by an amazing local woman, Gina Moffatt and it felt really important that the caf\u00e9 had the exuberance and enthusiasm she gives to the place, full of colour and life.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n
