The result was a stunning nostalgic design filled with a new vibe and lots of colors.<\/p>\n

The Riviera<\/strong> was a project by architect Irwin Shuman, who thought the resort in order to mirror the luxurious hotels of Las Vegas in the decade of the 1950s. However, this glamorous hotel was nestled in Palm Springs and was, for many years the getaway for stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Marilyn Monroe, you name it\u2026 Now it\u2019s been completely refurbished and the result is a continuously glamorous place, filled with stunning mid-century<\/strong> pieces.<\/p>\n

The new Riviera Hotel should\u00a0reflect the style of contemporary Palm Springs \u2014 a playful mix of eclectic and bohemian design, at the same time it\u2019d\u00a0make us feel nostalgic with its vibrant colors and midcentury furniture. And the designers who ultimately achieved that were the Miami-based Rose Ink Workshop<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the Landing Lobby Bar, visitors are immediately enveloped in a refreshing rush of green, which mirrors the oasis vibe The Riviera is trying to achieve, with lush palm leaf pillows and mint walls. A touch of retro style appears in zig-zag carpets and mod chandeliers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe previous design was a glam, Vegas-y throwback to the Rat Pack years,\u201d says creative director Liubasha Rose. \u201cIt was too much sensory overload and not relaxed or relaxing enough. We needed to create an atmosphere that fits in Palm Springs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLeaning on the aesthetic vibe of Slim Aarons\u2019 photographs, the new design is mid-century, vibrant, playful and whimsical,\u201d says Rose.<\/p>\n

In the lounge area \u2013 the dark and moody Gypsy Rose lounge \u2013 guests will find a very seductive and stunning ambience,\u00a0with pink velvet armchairs, classic Thonet caf\u00e9 chairs and crystal sconces, custom-made by Stone & Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The customized lobby areas are all different, but maintain a very glamorous and classy feeling throughout all of them, with the concept of comfort being always present.<\/p>\n

The outdoor area features an immense pool, the original space where all those stars used to swim and enjoy their time out. Below you can also see a game area, perfect for an after dinner game of pool.<\/p>\n
