Museo delle Culture<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 also known as MUDEC \u2013 was officially presented on March 26th<\/sup>, 2015. It is dedicated to the research on the cultures of the world and it focuses on the relationship of theses cultures with the city of Milan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The permanent museum\u2019s collection gathers the collections from different Milanese government agencies. \u00a0That work come from several places, including Middle and Far East, South and Central America, West and Central Africa, South Asia and Oceania.<\/p>\n

Designed by the British architect, David Chipperfield<\/em><\/strong>, the MUDEC is located in the heart of Zona\u00a0Tortona<\/strong>. His firm (David Chipperfield Architects<\/strong>) is also responsible for the design of many other museums. Some examples are the Neues Museum in Berlin, the Saint Louis Art Museum in Missouri and the Liangzhu Culture Museum in Hangzhou, China.<\/p>\n

MUDEC comprises different spaces, to offer the visitors a whole range of cultural events. With an area of 17\u00a0000 square meters, the display area is laid out around a large, covered central plaza<\/strong> \u2013 which is the real \u201ccore\u201d of the museum, with an amazing curvilinear architecture and flooded with natural light.<\/p>\n

The first floor<\/strong> hosts the permanent collection of the museum and the rooms used for majors exhibitions, as well the auditorium and the theatre. The ground floor<\/strong> includes the reception area, a design store, ticket office, cloakroom, the Forum of Cultures, a conference hall, educational facility, restoration workshop and repositories.<\/p>\n

It has also a space designed for kids \u2013 MUDEC Junior<\/strong> \u2013 allowing them to come into contact with different cultures.<\/p>\n

Amongst the services offered by the museum, we couldn\u2019t not talk about the MUDEC restaurant<\/strong>. by Designed by the architect Fabio Rotella<\/strong> <\/em>and under the responsibility of Enrico Bartolini<\/em><\/strong>, a 2 star Michelin Chef.<\/p>\n

Its cuisine is defined as Contemporary Classic<\/strong>.\u00a0Research, innovation, resourcefulness, perseverance and equilibrium. All of this is reflected in his style, which fuses the values of the past and present, bringing the flavors to life, in an original way.<\/p>\n
