If you want to bring a piece of that 70s vibe into your home, you\u2019ve come to the right place. Film\u2019s Academy Award\u2013winning costume designer,\u00a0Catherine Martin<\/a>, has just teamed up with\u00a0Mokum<\/a> for a new textile collection inspired by the movie, and you won\u2019t want to miss it!<\/p>\n

The Graceland living room set.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Martin\u2019s line, dubbed the Royal Menagerie, includes fabrics and wallpapers inspired by the King of Rock N\u2019 Roll and the decadence of the \u201970s. Many of the offerings have a more maximalist look<\/strong><\/em><\/a> to them, starting with Royal Peacock, a wallpaper depicting the regal blue birds surrounded by tropical plants.\u00a0 This bird was a reocurring motif in Presley\u2019s world, such as in his Graceland residence, where large stained-glass peacocks separated the living room<\/strong><\/a> from the music room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Elvis set, the International Hotel\u2019s bedroom showcases Martin\u2019s Bengal Tiger, Bespoke, and Leopardo fabrics.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cThere were many stories surrounding why the peacock was a reoccurring theme,\u201d Martin, who is also Luhrmann\u2019s creative and life partner, tells ELLE DECOR. \u201cThe archivist at Graceland said it was a symbol of eternal life in some religions. [Elvis] was a very spiritual person, so that\u2019s quite likely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other patterns were inspired by Graceland\u2019s famous Jungle Room,<\/strong><\/a> a space that feels like a time capsule from the carpeted ceiling to the indoor waterfall. This room features layers of tropical flowers and leaves on fabric. Elvis\u2019s ceramic chimp statues, meanwhile, were a point of reference for Monkey Business, a wallcovering featuring a group of apes scaling a leafy tree.<\/p>\n

Another theme in the Royal Menagiere collection<\/strong><\/a> is feracious cats, including a velvet jacquard tiger print inspired by Elvis\u2019 famous tiger jumpsuit, a colorful jacquard leopard print, and the illustrative Panthera velvet, a tribute to one of the rocker\u2019s early nicknames. Other options, such as Grande Boucle and Monarque, take inspiration from Presley\u2019s tour bus with its stunning velvet<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Graceland\u2019s wood-paneled-fever-dream origins go back to Presley\u2019s father, per Martin.\u201cThe story is that his father saw this tiki furniture<\/strong><\/a> in a window in a local store in Memphis,\u201d says Martin. \u201cHe came home and said, \u2018Oh my God, I\u2019ve just seen the ugliest furniture I\u2019ve ever seen in my life.\u2019 So Elvis went and bought everything as a joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s only natural that this collection focuses on storytelling, whether it\u2019s the legendary narratives behind each design or the new life they\u2019ll take on in living rooms<\/strong> <\/a>and foyers across the country. The 70s aesthetic<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, however, it\u2019s perhaps the most interesting and appealing detail of this collection, adding a playfulness that is unmistakable. \u201cIt feels slightly tongue in cheek,\u201d adds Martin. \u201cThere\u2019s a sense of humor, a sense of fun and exuberance.
