The\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0Brazilian Design Studio<\/strong>, created by\u00a0Humberto Campana and Fernando Campana<\/strong><\/a>, that has been making headlines for several years. In 1983, the two brothers teamed up to make\u00a0furniture<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0made of ordinary materials including scrap and waste products such as cardboard, rope, cloth and wood scraps, plastic tubes and aluminum wire. From 1997, some of the\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0products including the Vermelha chair began to be produced and sold in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n \"\"<\/a>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI love the challenge of looking for\u00a0new ideas<\/a><\/strong>, discovering new ways of working with materials, collaborating with different people and imagining \u2018new landscapes\u2019. I love being part of their daily lives and discover ways of improving it, whether it\u2019s in a rural or urban setting through an object,\u00a0architecture or social projects<\/a><\/strong>\u201c, explained the\u00a0Brazilian interior designers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1998 the\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0became the first Brazilian artists to exhibit their work at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, along with German\u00a0lighting designer<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Ingo Maurer. In 2002, the\u00a0renowned interior designers<\/strong>\u00a0started crafting their own line of limited editions and unique pieces\u00a0handmade<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at the studio in Sao Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the years, the\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0have faced some obstacles in their professional path, but there was one specific moment that marked the\u00a0Brazilian interior designers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have to stay it was transitioning from one-of-a-kind,\u00a0limited edition pieces<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>to mass production. We overcame it thanks to people like Massimo Morozzi, art director at Edra at the time, who was keen to spread our design philosophy applying their industrial expertise and invited us to work together. That\u2019s how Vermelha was put into production in 1998, five years after it was created in our studio. We initially thought it would be a limited edition but as it turned out, it is still being produced today and it\u2019s one of our\u00a0most recognized pieces<\/a><\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this incredible episode,\u00a0Fernando Campana<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0also highlighted as an important point of his career the hospitality project of the New Hotel in Athens, Greece, and the\u00a0interior design project<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of the Caf\u00e9 Campana for Mus\u00e9e D\u2019Orsay. It was\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/em><\/strong>\u2018 first architectural project, while the Caf\u00e9 Campana project, Fernando enhances that\u00a0he \u201cwas very grateful for being trusted by them with a carte blanche to create a space from our vision to exist in a place that is a\u00a0masterpiece<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>in itself\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
