Patricia Urquiola\u2019s work is widely known to be playful and poetic, yet pragmatic and functional, a creative combination that is the magic behind her work. She comes and goes through conventional time \u2013 rethinking, reinventing, and creating new. Patricia Urquiola<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0started her journey through this\u00a0amazing universe<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0when she attended the school of architecture of\u00a0Madrid\u00a0Polytechnic and also the\u00a0Milan\u00a0polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. Curiously,\u00a0Patricia Urquiola<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was an assistant lecturer to both Achille Castiglioni and Eugenio Bettinelli in\u00a0Milan\u00a0and\u00a0Paris, between 1990 and 1992. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that,\u00a0Patricia Urquiola<\/strong><\/em>\u2018s career really began to move forward when she became responsible for the new product development office of De Padova, a chance which allowed her to work alongside with Vico Magistretti. However, the\u00a0Spanish designer<\/strong>\u00a0recognizes the influence and lessons she won with the influence of having socialized and worked alongside Castiglioni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her design is clean and she creates pretty and unique pieces. She stands out for the original designs of objects and furniture<\/a><\/strong> that she produces for the best and most important international firms. The designer of some of the most emblematic pieces in the current range, she created the Maia collection, one of her most characteristic works, for Kettal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n \"\"<\/a>\n\n\n\n

Some of her products are exposed in the permanent collection of Moma in New York and other international museums. Aside from Achille Castiglioni, Piero Lissoni and\u00a0Vico Magistretti, she also recently cooperated\u00a0with\u00a0Rossana Orlandi<\/strong>\u00a0on an ironic daybed, more specifically the Wasting Time Daybed, that is made out of recycled plastics.\u00a0Patricia Urquiola<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0also cooperated with top\u00a0bespoke brands<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0which include\u00a0 Alessi, B&B Italia, De Padova, Flos, Foscarini, Glas Italia, Kartell, Maurice Lacroix, Liv\u2019it, Moroso, Mutina, Panasonic, Paola Lenti, among many others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
