\u2018Vincent Darr\u00e9: Surreal Interiors of Paris\u2019 <\/em>is the designer\u2019s new book.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vincent Darr\u00e9<\/em><\/strong> is one of those names that does not go unnoticed. The former head of Moschino fashion house is also one of the most famous faces in the interior design and decoration industries, and he was featured in Germany\u2019s AD 200 design influencers<\/em> list to celebrate their 200th issue back in May. We wanted to take part in that celebration, and also allow some time to celebrate Vincent Darr\u00e9\u2019s newest book on interior design. Whether you personally go for more modern, or contemporary, minimalist interiors, there is no denying Maison Vincent Darr\u00e9\u2019s collections and interior design projects are absolute works of art. The designer\u2019s surrealist approach to design (and life, overall) has been allowing him to create unique pieces of furniture and equally one-of-a-kind interiors for him and his closest friends. But this hasn\u2019t always been the case. Before shifting his career onto the interior design<\/em> tracks, the French designer worked in the busy fashion industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After having concluded his fashion studies at Studio Ber\u00e7ot in Paris, Vincent Darr\u00e9 went on to working with several fashion houses, such as Yves Saint Laurent, Claude Montana, and Prada. Later, Darr\u00e9 worked alongside Karl Lagerfeld at Chlo\u00e9 and Fendi, before being appointed as the head of Moschino in 2001. From there, Vincent Darr\u00e9<\/a><\/span> went to Ungaro, where he believes his career in fashion eventually stalled, which was when he decided to chart a new career in the design world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exhibition on the Dada movement was what first sparked the French designer\u2019s interest in the decoration world. When he eventually changed the direction of his career, Vincent Darr\u00e9 made sure that his interiors and creations were influenced by the Dada<\/strong> and the Surrealist<\/strong> movements<\/strong>, which can be seen in the iconoclastic mood and details of the rooms he designs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for Maison Vincent Darr\u00e9 and its furniture collections, we can see how they are heavily inspired by skeletons, Cubism, and the creations of Dal\u00ed, and the Surrealist parlour<\/em> game \u2018Exquisite Corpse\u2019. Perhaps, the best expression of Maison Vincent Darr\u00e9\u2019s style is Darr\u00e9\u2019s own Parisian apartment, as well as those he designed for his close friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like what he had previously done in the fashion industry, and what he does with his own personal fashion style every day, Vincent Darr\u00e9 is breaking barriers and creating from the heart, from a place where he is not afraid of color and bad taste. However, and as stated by Vogue, we have to understand Darr\u00e9\u2019s rule and barrier-breaking is effective because it is intentional and informed by an expansive knowledge of the history of good taste. Vincent Darr\u00e9 has been creating from this wondrous, barrier-free place for a very long time, which is something most designers can\u2019t afford to do, deeming him one of the most genius minds in the contemporary design world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
