As the owner of 6th and Detroit, a vintage store located in Downtown Long Beach, CA and online, it’s only natural for Michelle to express her creative spirit in decorating her home. Her goal was to “…create an inviting, warm space by mixing mid-century styles that feel current and using as many textures as possible. The painted sun mirror was the inspiration for the 6th and Detroit logo. It sits above a vintage chair located by a unique built-in brick planter adjacent to the fireplace. The living room is designed extremely long and narrow, so they recruited the help of David Galindo, an interior designer, to make this custom built couch to navigate the awkward layout. “We needed a couch that kept in line with the open floor plan, while being able to enjoy the fireplace AND the TV,” “The peacock chair was supposed to be another 6th And Detroit shop item, but I am in love with it too much to part with,”

The goal of the dining room was to keep the focus on the space’s white brick walls.
