Stefano Giovannoni graduated at the University of Architecture in Florence, having taught and conducted research at the same university until 1991. In these years, he sharpened the edges of his knowledge in the design world, building his trademark design style.
He collaborated with many companies in his career, such as Alessi, being the first designer with more than 300 steel and plastic products, becoming true bestsellers in the design-oriented companies, with more than 10 million products sold.
During his career, he won many awards for his incredible products, such as “Champion of Super and Popular of the years 2000” (Alberto Alessi), “King Mida of design” (Cristina Morozzi), “Most bankable designer” (Eugenio Perazza, Magis).
He is known for not caring as much for the actual revolution of a designed product, but what people really want, leading to commercially successful designs with a certain modernity, simple shapes and archetypal lines, to create products that are characterized by a reassuring realism.
