At first glance, Halloween and mid-century modern design don’t seem to be a match made in heaven. And knowing how to decorate for Halloween if you’re a mid-century aficionado might resemble an impossible task. However, there is one person who keeps on proving it wrong. Every year, Krys Melo manages to effortlessly pull off some of the most gorgeous themed home decorations on the planet, and Halloween couldn’t be an exception. Last year, the blogger and social media influencer gifted us with several photos of her Halloween-ready mid-century modern home, that would make dream even the slightest admirer of the architectural style.
Boasting a color palette very much to the style of the mid-century era, where white and multiple tones of orange and blue seem to take the lead, Krys Melo was able to create one of the best Halloween decorated houses we have seen in a long time. The Instagrammer doesn’t deviate from the mid-century home decor she is known for, looking for subtler ways to bring this time of the year alive inside her home.
Going for Halloween pumpkin decorations was the way Krys Melo found to keep her Halloween decorations classy and in tone with the overall design of her period house. With that said, it doesn’t mean she didn’t go for a other lighter and more classic Halloween details, adding a few cobwebs here and there, as well a collection of lovely little bat stickers on her living room wall.
In the dining room, a minimalist Halloween centerpiece catches our eye with an assortment of varied white and orange pumpkins. This setting matches the fireplace decoration, equally made out of smaller white and pastel pumpkins that reinforce the cohesive Halloween look the social media influencer is going for.
With a great eye for details and knowing what works best in her home decor, the digital influencer took advantage of her already orange-colored backyard door, inviting us in with a joyful minimalist sticker.
We don’t know what Krys Melo is planning for this year’s Halloween decor, but we will surely keep a curious eye out for more inspiration coming her way. Make sure to follow her on Instagram and check out her blog as well!
