Join the Ultra Violet club and let’s find out what the hype is all about!
It has now been a little bit over a month since Pantone announced their luxurious 2018 Color of the Year, Ultra Violet. The feedback to the hue that promised to be everywhere in 2018 was amazing, and everybody seems to have comprehensively fallen in love with it. Like everybody else, we too have fallen in love with Ultra Violet, and today we are eager to share with you a few ideas on how you can bring this tone into your home decor and make it the star of the show…

Subway tiles might be on their way out the door, but geometric patterns are still fair game in mid-century design, and mid-century modern homes. One way to mix this trend with the Pantone Color of the Year is by using a color block pattern of Ultra Violet and white, for example, like shown above. We love it and are all for it!
Mix Ultra Violet with metallic colors and tones. We have shown you before you to pair it up with copper details, but this time we are letting you know that gold plated brass furniture and Ultra Violet elements can also be a match made in heaven.
If you are still not sure whether you love the 2018 color of the year or not, you can still use it, just in case you happen to fall in love with it over the time! Our suggestion is to use it inside your cabinets and see your living room decor be upgraded by a million points (if that’s a thing).
Forget neatly decorated interiors and minimalist approaches to your home decor. This year it’s all about complex interiors! Curated interiors are here to stay – at least for now – and one of the first things you can do if you want to give it a go is to begin by choosing a strong color palette. For the ultimate look, go with mid-century furniture, because industrial chic is officially out the door!
Floral patterns are making a huge comeback this year – you can read all about it here – and people are still not over energy-filled minerals and rocks! Take advantage of these two great trends and bring Ultra Violet to the fun with a living room wallpaper that is filled with gorgeous lilac flowers, for example.
A statement color by nature, Ultra Violet can – and should – be used in upholstered furniture. In a year when bold colors and curated interiors are bound to be everything, this is the time to stop being afraid and go for that accent chair with the gorgeous lilac velvet! On our side, we love this custom armchair by Essential Home.
